Exactly 10 years ago, Melanie released her number 1 single I Turn to You. Remixed by Hex Hector, the track filled dance floors all over the World. To celebrate this anniversary, we're now giving you the chance to show us your DJ skills by remixing the 'This Time' track 'Your Mistake'!
To get started you can download this file (36.6 MB ZIP file) which contains a selection of tracks from the recording of 'Your Mistake' including Melanie's vocals, guitars, keys and much more... Be as creative as you like, as you will need to impress our panel of judges, led by head judge Melanie. So be it techno, reggae, rock or pop we are open to anything. However, there are a few rules that need to be followed:
- You are not allowed to sample music of other artists or other Melanie songs, you can however add your own beats, samples, instrumentals, vocals etc as long as you own the exclusive copyright for these.
- You can only make one submission in the competition.
- Remixes can only be submitted in MP3, FLAC or AC3 format with a maximum of 20 MB.
The best "DJ" will be rewarded with a pair of professional Shure SRH840 headphones and hand written lyrics of 'Your Mistake' from Melanie. The winning track will also be streamed on MelanieC.net and Melanie's official Facebook, YouTube and MySpace pages.

This competition closes Tuesday 31st August at midnight. While submitting your file please keep this page open as uploading your submission might take a while depending on the speed of your internet connection. Once submitted a confirmation message will be displayed and a confirmation email will also be sent to the email address you provided. Receiving this confirmation email means we have successfully received your submission including the uploaded audio file. Please make sure that this email address is correct as we will also use this to contact the winner.
By pressing "Send" you grant us an exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any intellectual property content (audio content, username and name of the remix enterered above) and guarantee that audio uploaded has been mixed by you and you own full rights to it. Sampling commercially released songs is NOT allowed. Audio content offered for download on this page may only be used to create entries for this competition, you are not authorized to publish these files or derivated works yourself.
A selection of remixes will be uploaded to MelanieC.net and the final winner will be picked at the discretion of Melanie and her team.
