Make sure you tune into ITV1 this Saturday from 7:25pm as the search for the new Jesus will finally commence on TV! In the past few months Melanie, Jason Donovan and David Grindrod assisted Andrew Lloyd Webber in finding the new lead performer for the arena tour of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. This Saturday and Sunday evening ITV will broadcast the auditions and call backs, in which we will see which candidates the casting panel put through to the live shows.
For Melanie, casting the best Jesus is essential as she will star alongside the winner in the arena tour of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' as Mary Magdalene. Tickets for the arena tour are now available here.
