This song was produced as the theme tune of  the German telenovela "Wege zum Glück". Being played daily during the opening and closing credits of the show, First Day of My Life became one of Melanie's biggest hits to date, selling over 400,000 copies in Germany alone where it still holds the record for the most downloaded single in chart history. It also went on to chart at Number 1 in Spain, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland and also Portugal where it helped to propel the album ‘Beautiful Intentions’ to double platinum status and kept it at Number 1 for 9 weeks.

(*) Melanie recorded the French version of 'First Day Of My Life' to promote this release in France. The track was only released to local radios and wasn't commercially released.
